Fear

I have to admit I have been dealing with a bit of fear in my life lately.  Chris has pointed it out to me on several occaisions so it is time to work on it.  I guess I didn't think it was something I needed to work on because I didn't think they were big deals because they generally aren't things I have to face every day.

For example: my number one fear.  Being wrongly imprisoned.  This fear started cropping up more and more in my conversations with Chris though so I know this does need to be dealt with.  (And maybe need to keep a closer eye on what I watch on TV--a little less "Women on Death Row")

Another big one: the dentist.  Some of this one might be wrapped around pride.  Having never had a cavity I am concerned about one day getting one.  Having set up my dental appointment I immediately got my self imposed tooth ache and made Chris start examining my teeth.  (I'm sure he loves this).  When he asked me when my appointment was I had to sheepishly admit it is not until August 30.

Here is the real stinky part.  Every time Lorelei says she is scared of something like going upstairs by herself we repeat one of her Bible verses, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."  2 Timothy 1:17  I obviously need to be utilizing God's Word and help in getting over these fears.

So, what are your favorite verses for help when you are fearful?

I had a little list going on fear during Roo's first deployment... many of them go along with worry though. I like "what time I am afraid, I will trust in you!" :)
