Father's Day

I am so blessed. I am blessed by my dad, who showed me how to love the Lord, how I should be loved by my husband, and how to train my children. My dad helped me learn how to be responsible and a hard worker, a strong independent woman. I love my dad!

It has been sweet to watch my dad grow. I know that sounds weird. I can remember before he was a Christian. I have watched him grow in the Lord. I have watched the Lord smooth out his rough edges. I have watched him become more sensitive with age. I love my dad!

Lorelei's daddy? Words cannot express how I feel about that man. Since words are what you read on here I guess I will try. I also have had the joy of watching my sweet husband grow in the Lord. Tears are in my eyes as I sit and think this morning of what the Lord has done in his life. Chris seeks the Lord, seeks to be a leader in our home (not always the easiest task--remember I said I was a strong independent woman--that can also be translated...bossy and noncompliant) and a godly father.
Chris has to seek the Lord on these things. He grew up in a broken home. He didn't see these things modeled. I am so proud of him. I love that man.

Chris and being a Dad... I always knew he would be a good dad. I just didn't know he would be this good! I think about how blessed Lorelei is (and myself). How many little girls have a Daddy that totally switches shifts so he can spend all day with her while Mommy goes to work? He sleep deprives himself so he can be with her and be intentional in training her. He dealt with her when she refused to take bottles. He loves that girl. I love that man.
One of the ways Chris shows love to Lorelei is in the way he shows love to me. Sometimes I hear him telling her, "Lorelei, wait, I am coming around to get you and Mommy out. Gentlemen always open the doors for ladies." He tells her that God is first, then Mommy, then her. He loves that girl. I love that man.

Father's Day...

I ordered his gift weeks ago. I have to admit that when it came...I gave it to him. I could hardly stand it. I ordered him this. I thought both he and Lorelei would love this! I also thought it would give me time to work on papers and homework without feeling guilty because they were exploring the world together.

Obviously this picture is neither Chris nor Lorelei. This is the picture from the One Step Ahead website. Lorelei's helmet was backordered and I think we have to get new tires for Chris' bike.
And now for some of my favorite pictures...

Isn't he a good Daddy? Aren't both his girls so blessed?
